“In our whirlwind of fleeting moments together, it has been important for me to explore the circumstances that have carried us to where we are today. To be aware of my place as just a snippet in the timeline of existence has become a constant reference to me. With every action, we are simply joining in on the conversation of cause and effect. I am fascinated by the history of social/gender roles, migration, lineage, and our closest allies in life; plants. Plants are a constant medium in my work because I believe that when you work with plants you can get closer to an unperceivable truth. We have grown in symbiosis with them; Medicine, food, inspiration, and even metaphysical ideals. When we study the migration of both plants and humans we get a better idea of what drives us, makes us, and brings us to this moment today. We aspire to assign concrete theories about the grandeur of life through rituals and culture. But at the end of the day, nothing gives more satisfaction than working in symbiosis with nature. I want to relish the comfort of wonder instead of surety. “
